• About Ultreya Tours

  Ultreya Tours is an incoming Tour Operator specialized in organizing exclusive & personalized luxury walking, cycling and horse-riding tours for groups and solo travelers on the Camino de Santiago. Founded and based in Santiago de Compostela, at the end of the Camino, we know the region of Galicia and the secrets of the Camino by heart.

  The Camino de Santiago is not just our business it is our way of life and we would love nothing more than to introduce you to our vision of the Camino.
  
  We believe that Modern Europe was built through the Camino de Santiago and we strive to help revive the medieval route by giving access to the demanding groups, single women traveling alone and anyone looking for an exceptional journey along the Way of Saint James.

  Our name Ultreya comes from the Latin word for Onwards. "Ultreya, Suseya, Santiago" was the common greeting among pilgrims in Medieval times. It meant courage, further and higher is Santiago. We are already in Santiago so our goal is to bring you there and help you every step of the Way.

  Our logo consisting of three interlocked spirals is called a triskele. Similar symbols have been found all over the world and particularly in Celtic cultures for the past 5,000 years. It is said the symbol is linked to the Triple Goddess, the three realms (Land, Sea and Sky) or maybe even the nine-month period of human pregnancy. In Celtic Christianity, it is the symbol of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, therefore, also a symbol of eternity.

  We choose the triskele to represent us because of all these different meanings. The Camino might be a Catholic pilgrimage but when you arrive in Galicia you will notice you are in Celtic region and both the triskale and the Camino are links between paganism and Christianity. The wheeled form with its never ending spirals shows we provide a whole service and are the link between you (the group organizer or the participants), the providers (hotels, restaurants, guides, activity providers... ) and the Camino de Santiago.

She has walked & cycled the full French Way several times, the Portuguese Interior + Coastal Ways, the Sanabrés Way, parts of the Le Puy Route & the Northern Way and the Camino to Finisterre.
